xeroprimoasbetos asked:

"Albus, i believe the time has come, my brother is already waiting on the portal."

albusofecclesia answered:

As usual, Xero had shown himself into Ecclesia’s grounds, it seemed.

Which by now was not a huge surprise for Albus as it was certainly becoming quite run-of-the-mill. Ah, at least he wouldn’t be bored any longer - despite that their last excursion had nearly put him into the med ward for two days due to complete and utter exhaustion. He hadn’t heard the end of it from his concerned clan-mate… Which now made all the more of an excuse to go on another away mission!
At least Xero could put him through his paces, which was a great opportunity for Albus to further train his own abilities and push his own limits further.

"No time like the present." Albus closed the botany book he had been casually reading and returned it to his inventory pouch. "I’ve been expecting you, so I am quite ready to leave when you are. Fancy a drink before we leave?"

"They’re not of major concern, unless if some rooms have Onyx in them then we’re on the right trail. though, i wouldn’t think they would keep the Vengeance Whip in a room like this." Xero answered, the two were about to proceed to the top floor until a someone or something, dashed through them.

Xero spun around before he regains his vision. “Looking for these, Marckus?” A man wielding the Vengeance Whip appeared before their eyes. “Well, Oblivion, nice to meet you again… And stop addressing me as Markcus!” Xero then punches the ground with his gauntlets in anger.

But Oblivion dodged it. “What’s the matter? Hated your name? Don’t worry, i will carve it on your gravestone.” Said Oblivion before he launches the whips at Xero, as the whips latched on, he was electrocuted continuously.

"Xero you really are a popular gent!" Albus called over the sound of the other two men scuffling about, while readying Torpor for another jaunt. "I bet dinner parties at your place are a real riot!"

Launching himself high over the two, he rained down several Torpor crystals, calling ‘heads up’ to Xero before doing so. If the crystals didn’t encase the newcomer, that was fine. At least it would be a distraction and would provide some cover - whips tended to have an insane range, after all.
Once he landed, he retreated to a safe distance so as not to get in the way of whatever tricks this new person had up his sleeve.

Xero was still being electrocuted but was free thanks to Albus’ attack of Torpor crystals, the soldier then switches to the Chaos Blades. “I forgot to tell you that me and my brother are well known here.” Xero explained.

The soldier then grapples Oblivion, making him temporary defenseless. “Albus, fire away!” Xero commanded while their adversary still had their guard down.

"Understood." Albus nodded, giving a two-fingered half salute before turning and warping up to the niche that Xero had pointed out to him. He repeated the affirmation when ordered to take out the sentries, doing so in a cold and efficient manner.

"Shall I stay here and await more targets, or do I follow suit?"

"After you take out the targets, try to find a way in through the upper floors, i’ll clear the bottom floor, we’ll pretty much meet up as soon as we’re done cleaning the place." Xero explained before he waited till the sentries guarding the main entrance were out.

"Roger that." Off he went, wandering the upper floors in search of a viable path. Nothing of note, save for more quiet take-downs of a couple more sentries blocking his way. A few gave him a bit of difficulty but it wasn’t anything his abilities couldn’t handle. These were nameless minions after all. Not sub-bosses and generals.

Some minutes later he practically hovered about the stairwell to the upper floors, his primary sweep complete, and awaited Xero to meet back up with him.

Albus went in first to the upper floors while Xero enters in the main entrance, of course he sneaked in to avoid alerting powerful adversaries. He then opened a door with a staircase on the end but it is surrounded by more sentries.

He then slowly approaches one sentry and slits the creature’s throat to silently kill it, he then equips his Soul Claws and rips a few souls from the other sentries before changing back to his two, chained blades. The soldier then stabs the last sentry on its head and slices it, revealing its brain.

Xero then made his way upstairs to meet Albus, seemingly it was also quiet in this floor, maybe the scholar killed every sentry? or they were not yet alerted. He thought to himself, either way, making his way upstairs, he saw Albus waiting.

"Apologies for the wait, i had some…cleaning to do." Said Xero who was apparently covered in blood because of the killing downstairs.

"Seems my mannerisms are rubbing off on you," Albus beamed, getting up from his sitting position on the stairs. "Though I thought perhaps you might have been a bit more… tidy?" He chuckled a bit, and explained that he had used the disintegrating powers of Acerbatus to remove most traces of the sentries he had dispatched. Less of a hassle to clean up, and less mess to wipe off of ones self thereafter.
"But I cannot in good taste affirm that I cleared every inch of the upper levels. Some areas were blocked off or rendered impassable without strenuous effort. Is that a concern or should we leave it be for now?"

"They’re not of major concern, unless if some rooms have Onyx in them then we’re on the right trail. though, i wouldn’t think they would keep the Vengeance Whip in a room like this." Xero answered, the two were about to proceed to the top floor until a someone or something, dashed through them.

"You’re right." Xero responded and holstered the two whips on his waist. Continuing in the ancient prison it rather seems…eerie, as if they’re being watched by a menacing Titan.

Xero crouched down one knee and coughed a little bit of blood again, of course the damage the demon did was rather powerful. Regaining his footing, they continued on an area with blue glowing stones that appears to be surrounding something in the middle.

"This might be it." Xero commented and equips his gauntlets and landed a powerful punch against the rocks, shattering it. In the middle lies a stone with green hue, seemingly this was the Titan Stone. Picking up the stone. With the whips acquired, they now have to find a way out through the Crypt using the stone.

"Who dares remove the Onyx the guards the stone?" Another voice of a Titan spoken. "I have come to use this stone in order to find the Crypt, fair Titan." Said Xero. "Hm…The Crypt, it seems you seek to destroy Charon…correct?" The Titan questioned.

"Indeed, and only the relic that lies within The Crypt can kill him." The soldier explained. "I will open a path that will lead to the Crypt, but remember, the whips require the Titan Stone in order to achieve its power. But first, you will need to refresh your magic in order to face the dangers within the Crypt." The Titan then opened up a path with a fountain on the middle of the path, seemingly it’s one of those fountain where it would regenerate one’s magic and heals the wounds of a person.

When Xero coughed up more blood, Albus furrowed his brow in concern and reached for a healing potion from his inventory, holding it out to his comrade in silence before they continued on through the area illuminated by the blue stones.

As they wandered through, the scholar was mystified by the faint azure glow, and remained quiet once they approached the green relic and hit a level of dumbstruck awe at seeing another Titan. Part of him considered that his comrade was being exceedingly polite, and he applauded that, but perhaps grander titles were to be used with ancient and wise beings? Ah, he wouldn’t contradict him at that moment lest he look rude to both his ally and the hulking being before them.

…And then they were graced with a replenishing well. How kind! But the words from the Titan made Albus feel a bit sick to his stomach - there were more dangers ahead. Fantastic.

Replenishing his magic and healing his wounds on the fountain, the two felt refreshed but as the Titan said there are dangers in the Crypt, the soldier saw a wall with a hole on it. It would be a good vantage point for Albus to snipe enemies. “Albus, see that hole on the wall there? I need you to use it as a vantage point to snipe some enemies, i’ll…pretty much sneak inside to take out some sentries.” Xero planned.

Leading on, Xero saw a few sentries near the entrance of the Crypt of course alerting them would mean releasing a rather powerful adversary. ”Take them out.” Xero quietly commanded using that orb from before.

Once the phantom appeared, Albus laboured to crouched on one knee with an arm across his torso as he reached for his firearm that lay on the floor beside him. Bloody hell, his ribs hurt. One he gripped his firearm, he aimed Agartha, closed one eye and prepared to fire another few rounds of lightning as he hadn’t changed out the element cartridge yet.

"My good sir…" He said aloud as he fired one round, "kindly…" a second round, "…shove it." Though he was frowning, his tone gave away that he was jesting, and was indeed trying to help despite his languid state. He spoke again, same joking yet incredulous tone as he switched out Fulgur for Optical shot. "…I am moving…" and off with a spiraling shot of light and dark towards the doppelganger. "…as fast as I can."

The light and dark spheres spiraling towards the doppelganger, it seems that the demon was about to strike Xero with the gauntlets while he was pinned down but it was interrupted as the two projectiles hit him, which sent him flying back.

The doppelganger’s attention quickly shifted to Albus and changed its weapon to what appears to be the Vengeance Whip, it was about to charge and stab Albus but Xero held it with the lionheads from his two gauntlets. The soldier then threw the demon away and regains his footing, seemingly he was feeling weak due to the damage the demon threw at him.

Xero quickly changes to his firearm and fires his ‘Chaos Storm’ ability, the first bullet was a line of fire which was then followed by ice, the doppelganger dodged the fire but its foot was caught in the ice, not long before lightning struck it, causing major damage to it.

After the smoke was cleared the doppelganger was lying on the ground, presumably dead or unconscious, regardless, Xero then picked up the two bladed whips beside its body, but as he grabs the two weapons, he was shocked like a thousand voltage was surging through his body.

The soldier was struggling to get the electric effect off but due to his weak state, he felt like dying inside an electrical filled room, eventually he knocks the effect off and crouches on one knee, panting, with the whips in his possession they can free Lockjaw from his torment but getting out of the prison requires the Titan Stone.

But of course Albus was in a weak state as well due to the satyr dragging him down to the ground, the impact Albus suffered was immense, he then slowly walks to his comrade and lends him a hand. “You know…we still have…to free…my brother.” He commented.

One arm had still been wrapped around his midsection, but when the doppelganger shifted its attention to Albus, he cringed as he brought both hands up and channeled Acerbatus in preparation. But was interrupted before he could fire off the spell shot, as Xero had tossed the damned thing aside. Still in a low stance on one knee, he did pepper it with a few normal rounds from his position, as if they would do anything against a phantom - but definitely would have caused some sort of sensation to the thing, and continued to observe his companion make short work of their adversary.

"They just keep coming." He muttered to himself, not really caring if he was heard. At least the burning sensation in his chest had simmered down to a dull throbbing. Maybe a potion would help - but that might be a waste… he wasn’t wounded, he had just been severely winded. But ones’ abilities were reliant on ones’ ability to breathe.

"I am aware we have to rescue your brother." He replied rather flatly, expression matching his tone as he refused the hand up and stood on his own.
"If you could stop being a demon magnet for more that five minutes, perhaps we would have already returned to aid him."

Ah.. that wasn’t very fair of him to say that, nor take out his rising aggression towards the circumstances on his ally.

"…Apologies." He offered quietly, looking away as he scratched at the back of his neck in discomfort. "Let’s go find that relic and get out of here. We have a comrade to rescue."

"You’re right." Xero responded and holstered the two whips on his waist. Continuing in the ancient prison it rather seems…eerie, as if they’re being watched by a menacing Titan.

"But I’m already up!" He called to Xero with a laugh, his voice echoing in the room in such a way that it did not give away the little niche hiding spot he had found.

Apparently it wasn’t a good enough spot, for he simply watched in dumbfounded amazement as a hook shot out from seemingly nowhere and dragged him out from the encroachment by one foot. He clenched his teeth as he sucked in a breath as soon as he felt himself be pulled free from his spot; and slammed to the ground so hard that he let out a loud and pained grunt as the air was forced from his lungs.
Winded, he couldn’t move in that moment, staring up at his attacker… who’s head suddenly quirked at an odd angle as a bullet passed through it.

As the satyr crumpled to the ground, Albus forced himself up, breathing heavily - but each drawn breath was agony and his rhythm hitched with each inhale. Wrapping his arms around himself, he tightened his grip and tried to steady his ribcage further in a desperate attempt to ease the pain somehow. Oh, how he wanted to curl into a ball and just lie down for a while.

"T-thanks…" He managed to rasp after a few moments, grateful for Xero’s assistance. "Just… need a… minute."

Albus laying on the ground to catch his breath, Xero then checks the rounds of his firearm, but not long as he was startled by an apparition of himself. “I-I Think i am just seeing things.” He whispered before a doppelganger of Xero was standing in front of him and punched him to the stomach with the same gauntlets he had.

Impacting to the ground, Xero groaned in pain. “What…the…Hell.” He spoken and coughed a bit of blood. He then regains his footing and equips his gauntlets as well, luckily the main difference between the doppelganger and the real Xero is that, the doppelganger Xero is eyeless and have blood dripping below the eye sockets.

Xero then launched one lionhead of his gauntlet to the doppelganger and pulled it over to him, as he pulled he landed a critical punch to the face, which knocked it to the ground. but the shape-shifting demon then punches the ground and a massive shockwave appeared and knocked Xero back.

"Might…as…well…try to…help?" Xero questioned Albus as for such, the doppelganger is pretty much focused to the soldier, making it ratther easy for the researcher.

Once the phantom appeared, Albus laboured to crouched on one knee with an arm across his torso as he reached for his firearm that lay on the floor beside him. Bloody hell, his ribs hurt.
